GTM Glossary
Short, plain-English definitions of the go-to-market and AI outbound terms used across Chronos, for founders, SDRs, and GTM teams who want the vocabulary without the jargon.
Terms
GTM digital twin
An AI replica of a company's go-to-market motion that learns its ideal customer profile, voice, and offer, then runs outbound prospecting on the company's behalf.
Go-to-market (GTM)
The plan and the day-to-day work a company uses to reach buyers: who it targets, what it says, which channels it uses, and how it turns conversations into pipeline.
Ideal customer profile (ICP)
A structured definition of the companies and people a business should target, usually described by industry, role, company size, and buying signals.
AI outbound automation
Software that runs outbound end to end: sourcing contacts, writing personalized messages, sending them across channels, and following up, with a human taking over live replies.
AI SDR
An AI sales development representative: software that does an SDR's top-of-funnel work, such as list building, personalization, outreach, and follow-up, autonomously.
Waterfall enrichment
Trying several contact data sources in priority order, moving to the next source only when the previous one cannot resolve an email, role, or company detail.
Email deliverability
The likelihood that an email reaches the inbox rather than spam. It depends on authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), sender reputation, warmup, and sending volume.
Send pacing
Spreading outbound messages evenly across the day and capping volume per account and inbox, so sending looks human and protects sender reputation.
Inbox warmup
Gradually raising the sending volume of a new email account over time so mailbox providers learn to trust it before it sends at full volume.
Multi-channel outreach
Reaching the same prospect through more than one channel, such as email, LinkedIn, SMS, or social platforms, in a coordinated sequence.
Sequence (campaign)
A defined series of outreach steps and follow-ups sent to a target list, which stops for a prospect once they reply.
Reply detection
Automatically noticing when a prospect responds, so the sequence pauses for that person and the conversation can be handed to a human.
Personalization
Writing each outbound message around facts specific to the recipient and their company, rather than sending one template to everyone.
Model Context Protocol (MCP)
An open protocol that lets AI agents call tools and data from other software. Chronos offers an MCP server so agents can source contacts, draft outreach, and manage campaigns.
Generative engine optimization (GEO)
Structuring content so AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini can understand and cite it, alongside classic search engine optimization.
